Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter in the flyweight division. She is the older sister of fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko is who is a Muay Thai kickboxer, began her fight sports career at her first IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was victorious in this event with a unanimous victory over Suzane Miller. Antonina kept her winning streak going by getting bronze and silver medal in 2008 and 2007 respectively, and a gold medal in 2011, and the year-end 2016 IFMA amateur Muay thai world champion. Antonia began her professional career in 2003, and she took home her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012. She also won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 and the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships in the year 2016. Antonina last fought against Isa Tsidblad Keskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by a unanimous vote. Antonina Shychenko's first professional MMA debut was in 2002 at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan in which she fought Anara Bayanova. She took the title by TKO in the second round and then won her two fights following and both of them at the WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. This gave her an MMA record of 3-0. Shevchenko went on a hiatus from MMA in order to concentrate on her kickboxing, and she returned to the ring with Anissa Haddaoui during Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko was victorious against Anissa Haddaoui in an unanimous decision. She later defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, by an unanimous vote. She joined the Dana White Contender Series 2018 after leaving the promotion. Shevchenko was matched against Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina knocked out Nievera using her striking skills that were superior at the end of the fight through knees to the body. Antonina's UFC contract was extended after this win. Antonina Shevchenko debuted in UFC at the TUF Finals TUF Heavy Hitting against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took victory in a unanimous victory, however she lost her second fight to Roxanne Modafferi via the split decision. Antonina rebounded from her loss to defeat Lucie Pudilova with a back-naked choke submission during the second round of UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the extra fight of the evening for this bout. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in her next 3 fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski, but fell to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee.
