Morgan Smith

Graduate of Columbia College at Columbia University and Mannes College of Music in New York City, Morgan made his debut as a Seattle Opera young artist (1999-2000) in 2001. He made his debut on stage with the company as Donald in Billy Budd. A great favorite to perform in Seattle, Mr. Smith has performed roles in 12 other productions since the premiere -- which included Count Alamaviva of Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni (title role), Silvio in I Pagliacci, Riccardo in I Puritani and Peter Niles in Mourning Becomes Electra. Smith is an a frequent performer on stages for concerts. He was the first to make his Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion and as part of The San Antonio Symphony at the North American premiere for Detlef Glanert's orchestral version of Brahms famous cycle Vier Praludien Und Ernste Gesange. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, the Requiems composed by Brahms and Faure as well as Mozart and the two Masses composed in C Minor and G Minor written by Vaughan Williams, Bach's B Minor Mass and numerous Cantatas and the Handel's Messiah, L'Allegro il Penseroso and il Moderato. the Haydn's The Creation, Lord Nelson Mass and Haydn's The Creation are also included in the concert program.
